What’s at stake in this election
Higher Quality of Life
Repair roads and infrastructure. Automobile traffic has reduced the quality of life in Colonie, increased pollution in the air, and made routine errands stressful. Furthermore, our local roads are full of potholes and our infrastructure needs an upgrade. As County Legislator, Nathan will work to repair our roads and reduce congestion points along Wolf Road, Albany Shaker Road, and Sand Creek Road. Nathan will fight to get Colonie’s fair share of state and federal funding for infrastructure modernization.
Sustainable development. Nathan will fight to ensure that as development happens in Colonie, it does so with the future in mind. By encouraging development that allows citizens to work, live and play in the same area, we can reduce traffic, air pollution, and urban sprawl while promoting healthy living.
Nathan will work with the Albany County Land Bank to fix dangerous blighted properties, develop them into beautiful affordable housing, and return them to the tax rolls.
Protect green spaces. As Colonie grows, it is imperative to protect and preserve our green spaces for future generations. Nathan will partner with developers to ensure that new projects occur with minimal or net-beneficial impacts on forests and waterways.
Better Economic Opportunity
Tech Valley. Nathan works to provide high-paying technology jobs to local residents. He knows what it takes to attract new technology firms to relocate to the Capital Region and bring economic prosperity with them. He will serve as a relentless champion for that cause.
New Opportunity. The Capital Region is home to more than a dozen colleges and universities. Nathan wants to turn the entrepreneurial spirit of those students into new businesses that will sustain the community and encourage more graduates to settle in Albany.
Invest in education. Educating our young people is the most far-sighted investment we can make to improve the local economy, increase home values, and create a vibrant community. Nathan will ensure that Albany schools are the best they can be and that our local teachers are paid what they deserve.
Fresh Leadership for Albany
Cut waste. As a CFO, Nathan knows how to trim waste from a balance sheet and ensure that your tax dollars are properly spent
Increase credit ratings. Nathan has worked with municipal governments to reduce expenses by improving their credit ratings and restructuring debt. He will work with the Controller’s office to boost Albany County’s credit rating, saving tax-payers money.
Government we can believe in. Nathan is not a lobbyist and will work to remove the power of dark money from local government. As a Navy Officer, he is used to working across organizations and checking personal egos to deliver practical results when the stakes are life and death.
Voice for the future. As young people consider starting a family in Colonie, buying a house in Colonie, which schools to send their children to in Colonie, they deserve a representative who will be making those decisions with them. Nathan is invested in the community and will be that voice.
